With the launch of iOS 14, you can now add widgets to your home screen. We’re excited to announce that To Do widgets for iOS 14 are now available! We’ve added three new types of widgets for you – read on to learn more.

Your Tasks Widget

The Your Tasks widget helps you select and view tasks from a list of your choice. The widget is available in two sizes: the medium widget shows a list of your tasks, while the large widget shows a list of your tasks along with due dates and other details. By default, the Your Tasks widget shows the Tasks list. To change the list it displays, long press on the widget and select Edit Widget, then select your list of choice.

My Day Widget

In the My Day widget, you can view the first task on your My Day list. Want to see the rest of your list? Tap anywhere on the widget to open the My Day list in To Do.

Add Task Widget

The Add Task widget allows you to quickly add a task to a list of your choice without having to open the To Do app. To add a task, tap anywhere on the widget. To pick which list your task is added to, long press on the widget and select Edit Widget.

How to get started with To Do’s widgets:

  1. Long press on any empty space on your home screen to enter the home screen edit mode, then tap the plus icon e948-32 (1).png to open the widgets menu.
  2.  Search for To Do or scroll down to find Microsoft To Do, then add the widget of your choice. (You can also add multiple widgets!)

You can also create a widget stack with To Do and Outlook widgets to access your tasks and calendar all in one, or create stacks with multiple To Do widgets to keep track of all your tasks in one view.

We’d love to hear your feedback on the new widgets. What’s your favorite widget? Let us know in the comments below or connect with us on Twitter and Facebook. You can also write to us at todofeedback@microsoft.com.

Is this rolling out? On iOS 14.4 and don't have this as an option

@ashok_obhan this is great. I have been looking forward to the iOS widget for a while. Might be too early to share feedback as it I am sure it is still being worked on, but the scaling on the iPad seems off (the test is large compared to other widgets, including the Outlook Calendar widgets. (I am using the largest widget size (the large square). Not sure if its intentional, but it doesn’t look as clean. Hope this helps!

HI @Gil Blumberg The widgets are available on the latest version(2.37). For some users the widgets take time to load. Can you please update and restart the app to check if the widgets appear. Also, what device are you using?

Thanks

Copper Contributor

this is a welcome addition to the Microsoft suite of products on iOS :)

When I add the widget per instructions above I only see the following:
* add task +

* My Day (since I it to display this list)

How can we have the widget look like the image above?

* Date doesn’t display for me

* My Day isn’t showing the tasks on my day or the number of My Day tasks

Hi, the widget does not update in the background unless the app is open e.g. after device restart.

This happens both on my iPhone and iPad.

Is there a fix?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks @ashok_obhan . Now showing

Does the widget just show black for anyone else?

Copper Contributor

When installing the widget it just appears black, showing nothing. Editing the widget and selecting different lists doesn't fix it.

Copper Contributor

Has this been rolled out to everyone? It's not showing in my available widget section. Currently on app version 2.40, IOS 14.4.1, iPhone XS

Copper Contributor

On my iPad, To Do doesn‘t show up as a possible widget to add. Newest iPad! Newest version of the app and the OS.
please advise.
thank you!

Hi @Smokesch,

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble. Sometimes the widgets can take some time to show up. Simply launch the app and use it for sometime. Launch and close the app 2-3 times and the widgets should appear in the widgets library. If you still can't see the widgets, you can raise a support ticket and we will help you.

Thanks

How can I get the widget to look like the first screenshot?  Mine has only two items on it with “3 more” at the bottom.  How can the size of the widget be increased to show those “3 more”?  Thanks.

Microsoft

@Alastair Cain Thanks for you comment here. The number of items displayed is dependent on the screen size of your phone. If you try the widget on a larger screen, you would be able to see more tasks.

Onde estão os mesmos widgets para Android?

Microsoft

Olá @ggomes, também temos widgets para Android. Para acessar o widget, vá para a tela inicial e segure até ver uma opção de widget. A partir daí, você pode encontrar o widget Tarefas e adicioná-lo.

I have the widget on my phone but is there a way to edit the background color and font like you can on other widgets?

Microsoft

@M-ryjane97 Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to edit the background and font of the widget. You can only edit the list shown on the widget. But please be assured, I have noted your feedback and will take this back to our to evaluate.

The My Day widget is the most important widget on my Home Screen. Now that iOS 17 is out please consider enabling the widget for Standby Mode. This, in combination with the Outlook timeline widget, would turn my iPhone into an invaluable time & task management dashboard when it’s otherwise sitting in a charging dock on my desk doing nothing.
