Zoom - Easy Join

Zoom (especially consumer use) has gotten a lot of traction because of the persistent, short meeting URL that a host can create and then send to meeting participants.

Example: https://zoom.us/j/1234567890

So long as you turn on appropriate security measures (like wait-in-lobby or password entry) this approach makes conducting interviews very easy, and secure, with Zoom.   It would be nice if Teams (free and business versions) had a similar feature. You can vote for this feature in UserVoice here.

Imagine if you were a professor or medical professional and you wanted to setup open office hours.

(1) You  (the professor) click on your user profile picture and one of the options there has your personal meeting URL. You can also turn on meeting password and meeting lobby options (both on be default). You copy URL and then...

(2) You (the professor) simply text/email interviewees with a note that says "Your appointment is at 6:30 pm, on mm/dd/yyyy. Please join me at that time via video conference by clicking this link: https://zoom.us/j/1234567890."

(3) When 6:30 comes, you (the professor) click on your profile picture and join the video conference with one click.

(4) When 6:30 comes, you (the participant) click on the link provided in the text/email and join with one click.

Could this be done using calendar meetings in Teams today? Yes (but only in the business version, not the public version). Is that as easy as just sending a URL as described above? I don't think so.
