What Guests Can See in Microsoft Teams

Copper Contributor

Hi,

I'm helping my wife set up Microsoft Teams for her business. Right now, she has the free version but she will upgrade to a business version if necessary.

Is there a way to prevent guest users to her organization from seeing the names of other guests in the organization? If that's not possible, is there a way to set up meetings with non-members so that they can only access the meeting rather than the actual team?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

No, all members in a Team will see the names of other members in that Team. But members of Team A will not see the names of members of Team B.

In Teams Free you can't schedule meetings and invite externals, you can have channel meetings but then it is only for members in that Team and they will see the names of the others.

With the payed version of Teams you can schedule meetings and invite externals (not member of a team), but their name will still show in the meeting. They can enter a fake name.

Do we have to have the premium business version to set up meetings with external users or will the basic business version work?
