During the TweetJam last week that @Christian Buckley organized there was a question about extending the client with tabs and bots. Some attendees got into a little chat on that occasion what the real use cases for bots really are. We did not come to real life examples for own, custom developed stuff.
I stumbled upon the thread here by @Asjad Khan where he already adressed this question in some way, but this did not get very much attention. Writing bots is fun (espacially with that piece-of-cake Azure hosting), but what serious stuff are you guys doing with it except for playing around?
I would really like to hear where they are helping today!
Additionally, I have captured a couple podcast sessions with people who are actively building bots for their organizations that go far beyond some of the simplistic capabilities currently available in the app marketplace. It's still such a new category, and enterprises and developers need time to adjust their thinking. I expect the sophistication of bots will increase fairly rapidly over the next year or so.
