Using Microsoft Teams Team feature

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I have a question regarding the user of a Microsoft Teams team and the licencing requirements.

I have 1 fully licenced user (Business Standard) who has created a team and wants to invite 7 x unlicensed users to the team so they can communicate via text and share images and files. Is this possible or do the 7 x users need to have a minimum of a Business Basic licence? The unlicensed users all have Microsoft accounts created in the same tenant as the licenced user.

Can anyone advise? From what I can tell, this is possible but there is a size limit on content that can be shared in the team.

Many Thanks,

To be compliant with Microsoft licensing all your corporate users must have an Office 365 license. And yes, in your scenario the 7 users should have each a Business Basic license to properly use Teams
