I think it would be amazing to have a "Flow" menu item for messages (Chat,Convo,Reply) somewhere like shown here:
This would open up limitless functionality for us to make up some great customization without code, and without bots which in their current state can be bothersome to people on the chat threads because initiating bots on a message reply causes unneeded notifications for personal asks.
By adding this menu item similar in functionality to the "For Selected Item" in SharePoint, you have a Trigger for Teams called "Message triggered by User" or something like that, that ties to that messageid, then exposes over the metadata and perhaps the message body if it's not a security concern, if so don't really have to have the message, could be used to parse for things if you wanted.
Then when you click Flow, you get a window that pops up, that you select which flow to run, then optionally you can fill in some basic fields similar to SharePoint where you could add in start date/end date/title, or a drop down for how many minutes to remind you to do something etc. then the flow starts and does the logic you define.
If the flow bot I think I read about coming could do everything without actually posting messages to chat/threads etc. Then that would be able to do this same thing, but that really is the key for me. By putting in the menu, and starting that flow on the message you select you bypass that issue.
This would allow for acting on messages and easily doing things like:
Create a Task in Planner/Outlook/SharePoint
Create reminders and then do x if not completed after set time
and everything else flow has done
Anyway, just an Idea, what do you guys think? If you like it, go vote!
