US Tenant with Australia office, how to get dial plans for the Australia users?

Copper Contributor

Now that there are dial plans available in Australia, how can a US Tenant with an office in Australia but on the same domain as US, get dial plans for those users?

Do we have to stand up a new AUS Tenant and federate the two?

Or can we add them into our Tenant?

And is this a better solution vs Direct Routing?

Hi,

Yes you need an Australian based tenant since users have to be based there to use the Telstra provided Calling Plans.

I think it would be better for you to setup Direct Routing for these users instead of splitting users into two different tenants. With different tenants users will be treated as two different organisations and not as the same.

You’ll want to keep the users in a single tenant to take advantage of the collaboration apps like Teams and SharePoint as well as unified GAL, reporting and analytics. A single tenant will also have a much lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) as it would be easier to Manage and support.

Direct routing is the way to go here.
