Recently I've been unable to open Word documents via the app in Teams. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Teams several times but that hasn't worked. My companies IT department said it is a known issue and to contact Microsoft since reinstalling the Teams hasn't worked. Not sure what to do next. Any magic button I need to click?
Were you trying to open Word files in Teams and it fails to call Word desktop app? As far as I know, when you try to open the files in desktop app, it will use the URL protocol to open the related Office desktop app. In this scenario, please go to Settings > Apps & features > Default apps > Choose default apps by protocol, then scroll down and check if Word is selected as the default app for MS-WORD.
If that doesn’t help, please first make sure your Office apps are updated to the latest version. If it's already the latest version, please try to run Office Repair to check if it helps.
