Unable to make a video call

When I make or receive a call, I receive a message to say that there is no speaker installed on my computer. I am able to see the other person on camera, however, I cannot hear the other person and they are unable to see or hear me. 

 

I accessed the "Device settings", but I was unable to adjust the settings. The "Audio devices" drop down only allowed for a "Cusstom Setup". The "Speaker", "Microphone", and "Camara" drop down settings were all listed as "None", with no option to select another.

 

I'm not sure if there is a configuration problem generally with my computer, however, I have been able to make Skype calls without any issues. I only seem to have the issue with Microoft Teams.

 

I'm not sure if this is of any relevance, but I am using Microsoft Teams on a remote server. I use Skype on my own desktop.

What version of teams are you on ? Did you check if there is an update ?

Did you try restarting teams app ?

I missed the point that you are using the teams on RDS servers , We had similar problem for our users on the chat and emmojies were not loading and also other issues like get emails links etc. Then we ended up removing Teams from our RDS servers, but Lync/SkypeForBusiness app were working fine though. To be honest the teams on RDS servers is not matured yet.
Your issue could be due to teams on RDS

Can't we make use of local resources settings through RDP and get Audio and Microphone ?

Yes works for Skype with no issue and Teams for most of the users but has problem in using local resource setting for some users its not recognizing it. We thought it was for contract employees so its something to do with the group policies etc.,

@Thuyavan Ganesan- I think so, I tried on my test environment and it works fine, with not much restrictions.

 

@garyalexander- If you are using RDP to connect to remote desktop, can you turn on local resources settings for Audio and Microphone and try it ?
