I have been researching Teams for possible  roll out to the organization. I registered for a trial of office 365 Enterprise E5 with 25 seats and a call plan trial  and configured it exactly as it should be set up. I can make calls out to the PSTN no problem. I can call between users in Teams via the phone numbers no problem. I get missed call notice in Teams and the voicemail. I get  an email in outlook with an MP3 of the voice message. EVERYTHING is working EXCEPT inbound calling from PSTN ringing in Teams. Have had 10 MS support people on here and run power-shell commands and changed many, many settings....still no calls inbound. I got frustrated and deleted that trial organization and got another one. Set it up properly. No inbound calls from PSTN to ring within Teams interface. If I install Skype for business and add the phone number there it will ring in SfB without issue.  Anyone else having this issue? Take the Teams  challenge.  Get and O365  E5 trial (one month comes with 25 seats no CC required) and set it up and let me know if you hit a wall as I have in two freshly created independent tenants. . If it works for you then please let me know what you did to get it to work. I will praise you and telly how smart you are and will have well deserved bragging rights. Seriously your assistance and input would be greatly appreciated.

I know of another person having the same issue and it’s being looked at by folks at Microsoft. If I hear anything I’ll let you know. Also going to try and reproduce this tomorrow with my tenant that hasn’t had calling setup. Are you using the same area codes on your numbers? Tried a different area by chance to see if it matters?

Or if it’s just a trial with no data and you want to create me a global admin account I’d be willing to poke around and try and figure it out. PM me if ya want.

The block of number that was provisioned and assigned  to me are all in the same are code. As far as inbound calling from other are codes yes I tried and the behavior is the same. The voicemail message says the username and these where brand new trial tenants. I may buy 1 O365 E5 seat and see if I can get that to work and if not get support under that account. Thanks for replying I will post to this thread if and when I get the issue resoled

I would love to make you an admin and I have no doubt that you are an honest and trusty  gentleman of outstanding moral character.. That said doing so goes against every grain of caution instilled in my administrative brain. Would you do that for me? I would hope the answer is NO! However if you are curious you can get a free 30 day trial of O365 E5 with 25 seats and add on a trial of 25 call plans with just an email address and phone number   to confirm a text they send you. No CC needed at all and the calling plan trial gives each user  3000 min domestic per month. All for free and no CC. There is plenty of documentation and on how to set it up. I was up and making calls out to the PSTN and to other O365 users in 1/2 hour. Get it up and running and I would be happy to share what I have on the documentation end if you wish. If you are familiar with Skype for Business and Teams administration (I was not though I am learning) then this should be  a breeze. I will post a video of the Teams and Skype as well as the legacy admin portal here tomorrow. Thanks!

I’ve set up quiet a few tenants and Teams, just thought if it was a throw away trial tenant with the issue it wouldn’t matter but no big deal, like I said I’ll try reproducing on my tenant and maybe do a trial if I can’t. No big deal just thought I’d try to save some reproducing time :face_with_tears_of_joy:

What’s the purpose of the recording? Doesn’t have anything to do with PSTN.

Calling outside of Teams which I demonstrated by calling the google voice number and the trying inbound, I was able to dial out but not in. Perhaps Google voice does not count as PSTN however it is external to  the organization  and the behavior is the Same if I call a cell phone and I would assume a landline also. Microsoft tried calling and same behavior a ring then voicemail

And as I figured I cannot duplicate the issue. Setup a trial Calling plan, assigned emergency location, requested number, assigned calling plan to user, assigned number to user, waited awhile, signed out of Teams and back in, got call tab. Made call, worked. Called Teams back from cell, rang just fine on Teams client.

Just out of curiosity you aren't removing the Skype for Business Online license when moving to Teams only etc. correct?

@Pentiumpilot I'm having this same issue but I never had hybrid mode and have only used teams. I can call out but not in. I've checked the org-wide settings and all look correct there. Co-existence is Teams Only. I have calling plan and phone system assigned. Any thoughts?

Have you assigned the account a phone number itself I assume? How long ago did you change upgrade mode. It is teams only?
