Unable to access Teams

Copper Contributor

When I try logging on, I get the message that someone has already configured Teams for my organisation. I don't have any organisation. It's my personal pc, with my personal e-mail and I only just downloaded Teams now. I haven't recieved any e-mails re. Teams since downloading, and now I have to setup a new e-mail, create a new account and use that?? Surely this can't be right?

Hello, you're not alone. I've seen tons of these issues in here. Unfortunately there's not a single solution to it. This is the "official information" but I'm not sure if anyone have actually benefited from it https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/troubleshoot/teams-sign-in/someone-has-already-setup...

When you try to sign in, are you talking about signing up for a Teams free org. as described here? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/sign-up-for-teams-free-70aaf044-b872-4c32-ac47-362ab29ebb... (note the InPrivate mode)
Are you using a personal Microsoft account?
Do you have your own domain as your address?
Any other users with that domain name if so?
By any chance you've previously signed up for some trials with your address/domain?
I used my yahoo e-mail, like I use for Office. Used the "For friends and family" option.
Never used Teams on this laptop or privately before. Still unable to access it. Not even in private browser. The official information solves absolutely nothing..
Could be that the "like I use for Office" is causing it. Difficult to say. If you only want to attend meetings you don't have to sign up, but if you want to have your own Teams free org. I suggest you set up a new personal Microsoft account for that.
