Turn on Live Caption Portuguese Brazil Language

Copper Contributor

Hi all,

Since the coronavirus outbreak lots of companies are working in home office mode. However, this option comes as a challenge for many organizations that have never facilitated their employees working from home before. (Especially those with accessibility issues). We are microsoft users and Teams has been used as never.

However we couldn't find a ONLINE transcription for our people with auditive accessibility issues. Using the teams plus stream we have the option to add the captions after, but this is a reative solution.

Any tip?

Is this part of microsoft roadmap? English mode works very well...

Teams Meetings provide Live Captions support, but at this moment only English is supported as language: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/use-live-captions-in-a-teams-meeting-4be2d304-f675-4b57-834... Bear also in mind that this feature is still in preview

Hi, Manoel. One workaround for some cases is to use the live captions or subtitles from PowerPoint.
Powerpoint presentations support subtitles in portuguese and there are other languages too. It is also possible to speak in portuguese and choose the subtitles in English, for example (or vice versa).

It works pretty well!

I hope this feature can help you and your team!
