Transfer Calls Cut Off

We use Microsoft Teams as our phone system. When callers ring in to our reception or sales line, we try to consult then transfer calls through to the appropriate staff member. If the staff member does not answer and we go to resume the call, the call cuts off. They then call back and this wastes so much of our time. This happens about 70% of the time. Has anyone else had this issue, or know what the issue so we can sort.

There are very many different ways calls can be connected to Teams, the answer will lie somewhere within that. I would guess that the SBC that's connecting calls to Teams is not configured correctly, so disconnecting calls on hold.
