Teams Website App; functionality within Teams Desktop versus Teams on the Web

Iron Contributor

Hello,

We have noticed that when using the Website App within Teams, it may work on the Desktop App but not the Web App.  Does anyone know why?  The example we are using is to add a page from Confluence Server as a tab (So it is an OnPrem instance of Confluence).  We can point to it using the Website App just fine when using Teams Desktop.  However, Teams on the Web gives the error that it refuses to connect.  Thanks.

Hi @Hughes818  There is an old entry in this community that helps define the differences.  It's still the same today:  https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/teams-desktop-and-mobile-app-vs-browser-app/m...

Thank you @ThereseSolimeno

It would be nice if there was a Microsoft Doc that had a side-by-side comparison of what can and can't be used in the desktop app vs. web app vs. mobile app.  For now, I'll just let users know that the web app and mobile apps are more back-up clients that doen't have all the functionality of the desktop app...so they should use the desktop app whenever possible.
