Teams shows email instead of name in but yet they are linked somehow. Very strange.

Howdy,

I setup Teams Free the other day and invited my wife and a couple other people to it.  For whatever reason, when i see posts that my wife made I see the first part of her email address (before the @) instead of it showing her name.

However, on her side, it shows her name and not her email.

If I go post and use the @ sign, I can choose either her name (which puts her initials in the circle) or her email (which puts the first letter of her email in the circle).

If I go to the search area, I can search by either one and find her and it looks like two different accounts but yet they both take me to the same conversations area.

I don't know if I'm explaining that well but it's very strange.  Attached picture shows that the name shows up on the left side, the email is in the middle, but it's all the same account.

Any suggestions on how I get everything to show her name would be great.

Are you using desktop client or web? If desktop try web browser and see. If it’s right there then a log out of desktop client and back in will probabaly fix it.

I'm using the web client. I did not try with the desktop version installed but I figured the web client would be more accurate.

Yeah. Shouldn’t need to try desktop. Maybe mobile could be different but doubtful.

So, I did some more testing and found that if I use one browser I see the email.  If I use a different browser I see the name.  If I use the desktop app I see the name.  Very strange.

In the image, Chrome is on the left, Desktop App in the middle, Firefox on the right.

I had the same problem. Logging out and then logging back in seemed to solve it.
