Teams room: Controls for unauthorised participant starting meeting

Copper Contributor
Hello

We are looking at piloting the Logitech tap for a teams room. We have some concerns around the security of anyone being able to join a meeting from the room. For example anyone could walk into the meeting room and join a meeting and listen to confidential information they should not have access to. Are there any controls available to secure this?

Also, is it possible to hide the subject or make it private? Again there could be some confidential information in a meeting subject description. Interviews, grievances, general confidential information etc.

Hello! You've posted your question in the Tech Community Discussion space, which is intended for discussion around the Tech Community website itself, not product questions. I'm moving your question to the Microsoft Teams space - please post Microsoft Teams questions here in the future.

Yes, you can mark the invite private, and it will just show the organiser and not the title of the meeting.

As for someone just randomly joining a meeting, that is what the Roster List is for, monitor who is in the meeting. You can also Lock Conference from your desktop client, so no one else can join.

You might want to consider some Teams Panels outside the room too, so if the user does not check in (new feature coming soon), it will mean the room is released, so no Join button should be on the centre of room console.
