Is there a function to download the Teams reguster after the session has ended? If not can it be built in. It is a very helpful tool to keep track of students.

Do you mean attendance records?

This feature is rolling out currently:

As stated in the link also, this needs to be enabled on tenant level

I would like to download the attendance report after the sessions has finished. 

It seems like that is not possible at the moment, but it would be great if that feature was included.
