Teams "Get Link" copy to email causes issues

Brass Contributor

I have a number of users that store files in Teams and will use the Get Link option for a file and copy/paste the link to an email message and send it off (to associates that ARE members in that Team so should have access to the file).

When the recipient clicks the link from the email message, they end up spinning at a Teams window with the file never opening. Anyone else experience this?
I doubt this is intended behavior! All suggestions welcome

This should be fixed if they release the files tab replacement this month per message center post. However if not s work around is tell your users to use the “SharePoint” tab so it gives them a link direct to the SharePoint file instead. It’ll be faster and you’ll get the SharePoint file experience to quickly render the file and also be able to act on it.
