Teams Opens Web Links Behind the App on Mac with Safari

Copper Contributor

When I click a link in teams that should open in my default browser (Safari), it opens behind the Teams app/does not bring it to front. This behavior is different from every other app I use on Mac, including numerous Electron-based apps like Code, Azure Data Studio, etc.

It is confusing in that sometimes I forget, and it seems as if clicking did nothing. Even when I remember, I have to manually CMD+Tab over to Safari after clicking, which is bothersome. This is like basic functionality that should just work.

I do not see anything in Teams prefs that indicates it is a setting based option. Any ideas?

Hi everyone,

Same situation for me actually, don't understanding why the "F" Teams uses Safari instead of my favorite browser ...
