Hello Teams Community,

Please I need your help on this issue.

We have a user called Alex who was assigned this phone number +44207xxxx229 but it has changed to +44209xxxx913.

Unfortunately, we can’t tell why the Phone number changed because it was not done by us.

The issue is that the number for on our users has changed automatically, please see screenshot below:

This was previously +44207xxxx229 and this same correct number is also on the user’s AD account.

We’d like to know why and how this number has changed automatically.

Do you have a call plan with Microsoft? Whoever has your call plan should be contacted. They have logs that will show number and ID changes made. Is it a hybrid setup AD and AAD? There is a log entry somewhere to show how the change was made.

Teams isn't likely to change the number without an admin doing so. Have you checked the audit logs in Azure? Go to portal.azure.com then active directory, users, find the user, then go to audit logs.

I see the number type is Direct Routing. Please check with your DID provider who should be able to address this issue.

It could've been a manual change from TAC or might be on the far end.

According to audit logs it hasn’t been updated or changed manually:

so we would like to know:

1. Why is the number different to her AD attribute and Azure properties
2. Why did the number change automatically on her teams account according to our Teams admin portal
