Hi
According to this 2500 in Org-wide Team - isn't this increased to 5000?
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/limits-specifications-teams
Is there any limit on no of attendees in a live event?

The limit is being increased for Org-wide Teams, from the Microsoft 365 Roadmap In development section, expected to be released this month:
Microsoft Teams - Create an org-wide team (for up to 5,000 users)
Microsoft Teams will support an easy way for everyone in an organization with up to 5,000 active users to be a part of a single team for collaboration with the new org-wide team type. With this feature, all internal users (up to 5,000 active users) will be added as members automatically.
The documentation I'm sure will be updated to reflect this change appropriately.
