Hi
We have a Poly Studio X50 (3.2), running with the native Teams Client. When we invite our dedicated teams user for the X50 from the Teams App (desktop or mobile), the it show fine on the X50 and we can join (the join button shows). But if we forward an invitation from our Outlook calendar it still shows fine on the X50 but without the join button, so it's not possible to join the meeting.
Please help
Regards
Casper

@Casper73 I cannot answer your question but curious, I am looking at purchasing one of these for our conference room. Were you able to solve this issue? How does the unit work for you now that you have had it for a month?

Yeah, these Poly Studio X30 and X50 are great. We have 3 of them and they work very well. One of the best and simplest to install boardroom systems that I've used.

@Casper73 @SteveKlassen this is a bug for sure. Would you be so kind to test this with a mobile device? If you forward the same meeting to your mobile device (preferably Android, but iOS is also ok) signed in to Teams, is there a Join button present?
We have fixed bugs in this area, but sadly forwarding process from Outlook doesn't always retain meeting join information in the metadata, so we cannot show the Join button if metadata is absent. I am trying to track down every use case but it is proving to be challenging due to a vast number of different Outlook clients.

But how do we fix this in Outlook? Outlook is a Microsoft product, and office365 is a Microsoft product, and Teams is a Microsoft Product.
If there was any situation I could think of where a tough problem could be solved, I think this would be it. Because everything involved in this issue is owned by Microsoft. No confusion or pointing fingers between different businesses. This is all in-house.
I could try it from an app, but I think that’s besides the point, and I’d rather stay out of the weeds. The app is at best a workaround, and there are already plenty of workarounds available. I’m looking for a solution.

@Pavel Yurevich Hello, has there been any updated or fix on this issue ? we have recently deployed a poly x50 and are experiencing the exact same issue as detailed above.
Everything works fine apart from when an external meeting is forwarded internally to the poly/room mailbox. There is no join button.
I've spent a lot of money on a solution that doesnt work.

Hey DJP7171, Yeah I have two X50s and three X30s. Firstly... its not the Poly Unit. It's Microsoft Teams. It's 100% in Microsoft's court.
This is what I know.
1) My original case was open for more than a month. Case #: 23769867 if you want to reference it. At the same time I had a case open with Poly too. After spending many hours... both Poly and Microsoft determined that when you have a Microsoft Teams meeting in your Microsoft Calendar, and you forward it with Microsoft Outlook, to another Microsoft Calendar, the meeting loses some of it's metadata. That metadata is what the Microsoft Teams app that Microsoft provides to companies like Poly, or Yealink, Crestron, Logitech, etc... need to be able to join the meeting. Without out it in the invite, the room sees the name and subject of the meeting, but it is unable to join.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/microsoft-teams/across-devices/devices
That case has been closed, so I had to re-open a new one, referencing it, to continue.
My new case is Case #: 24450109, and I have provided a new example to them of an invite that works, and an invite that does not.
Everyone who sees this post... should call Microsoft and ask that these two case numbers be escalated and fixed. I've spent at least 12 hours of my time over the last 2 months on the phone providing example after example. I can even reproduce the issue easily, and I have done so, with Microsoft on the phone. The urgency I've been shown, has been pretty poor.

@Pavel Yurevich Thank you for the reply. We have today proved that it is an outlook client issue.
When a user forwards a meeting invite from outlook 2019 or outlook 365 full client, the join button is missing on the POLY screen. However, when the meeting invite is forwarded via outlook web access, the join button now appears.
although this is a fix as such, asking users to switch between outlook client and outlook web access is not an answer.

@DJP7171 this is indeed not a direct Teams issue (we are not sure exactly where the metadata is getting lost at this point, but likely Outlook). However, since Teams is the only affected app, I am trying to escalate this from my end.
I don't directly work with support, so if you have an active support ticket, please ask it to be promoted to Outlook engineering. This will escalate it beyond anything I can do on my end.
While we are trying to figure out where metadata is missing, we are going to make a local Teams fix for all cases when a join link is present in the meeting invite, but might be missing from metadata. This is not straight-forward, so it will take some time to release.
