Teams File tab - have a view for each channel

Copper Contributor

Hi everyone, I just run into a topic which I could not solve. Maybe you can help me :)

I have a team with several channels (8) in each channel there are different files that we work on in this team. Recently the wish came up if we could use different views for certain channels.

At first, I thought, no problem, allow content types and adjust folder settings in the views. This works for exactly one other view (top folder + all other sub folders).

Now if you have more than two views you have a problem. Is there a solution for this?

Note from me: Content Type Folder does not work in Modern SharePoint.

Hi @MarcusB

What about using private channels? Private channels have different underlying SharePoint sites so therefore you 'should' be able to create different views for each channel. Note: private channel limit in a team is still currently 30

Hi Chis, thanks for you reply. Call me old fashion, but this sound like to crack a nut with a sledgehammer. Is it still a (hidden) Site Collection per private channel or has this changed in the mean time?
Cheers, Marcus
