Teams Desktop App - Can I change logon account?

Hi Folks, it could be that I've missed an option somewhere... But I don't see anywhere that I'm able to change my logon credentials.

 

I've initially logged on to a work tenant that has not yet enabled Teams and I'd like to log on using a different account to another tenant where first release and teams are enabled.

 

Any help greatly appreciated.

Uninstalling and reinstalling seems to have done the trick. Though would be nice to have multi-tenant / account support within the desktop app.

I have checked and have the same problem. If I use account from tenant with disabled MS Teams then I haven't any option to log out and log in with different account. Uninstaling is needed.

It is possible to do it backward. When I'm logged with account from tenant with enebled MS Teams then there is easy way to log out.

You can do this by Logout to the app and sign in again with the again with another account. I have tried this and it worked. You can find the logout option from Settings button (Gear icon in bottom left).

@Santhosh Balakrishnan try to log in with account which tenant has MS Teams turn Off. There is information "You're missing out! Ask your IT administrator for access to Microsoft Teams.'' And then you don't have any option to log in with other account. Try again, restart and this screen is coming back. One way @Jason Dunbar used is to uninstall Teams App and install it one again, then you can log in normally.

 

If a tenant has MS Teams turn On, everything work correctly as you said.

You can use Teams notification icon in the Notification area in the task bar. Right click on it and you will see Log Out option there.

No, if Teams cannot connect on the old account there's no "Log out", only an error with "Try again". And reinstalling it didn't work either beacuse all settings are stored under the existing user account.

 

This did the trick for me;

$ rm -rf /Users/Thomas/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Teams/

@Thomas Nimstad . I know this is an old thread but this issue was driving me crazy. The way I fixed it was to navigate to C:\Users\user_id\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\previous folder. This has identical file structure as the ...\current folder. I fired up Teams.exe from the .\previous folder and I was able to login with the right creds. There is a significant file size difference between the executables. Presumably the update broke something. HTH

the only solution that worked on the app in windows was :  erase /f /s /q %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams\*.* when app closed. , because i had no gear nor logout option that could have allowed me to change credenetials.

I know this is an old thread, but I seem to be stuck in my teams account on my daughters laptop and she needs to use it for herself. We have the logout option, but login just automatically goes to my account, no option to put in her credentials! Any ideas?

Gosh, this is an old thread :) We're now fortunately able to change accounts and even switch tenants.

Thanks for your replies, and sorry I didn’t reply sooner it’s been a hectic week! I tried looking in the cache and followed the advice given but there was nothing there oddly, but we restarted the computer and it worked so alls well
