We are working with a customer in a wierd case of Teams deployment.
Having Exchange 2016 on prem, he wants to start using Teams without syncing AD and without hybrid Exchange. In this case, users will have two accounts, ie: one for login in OWA and another to use Teams. Also, Teams chats will be stored in Exchange Online.
In the future, he wants to integrate on prem with cloud enviroments.
We mentioned that Teams stores chats in Exchange, so when the customer goes hybrid, there will be chats loss. If we configure hybrid Exchange after have used Teams, the new database for Teams chats will be an on prem Exchange mailbox wich has no older Teams chats (stored online).
Has anyone have a similar scenario? How can we proceed? Any ideas?
