Sometimes weird names are created for participants of meetings, e. g.:
\\\\"\\\\\\\"Forename Surname (Guest)\\\\\\\"\\\"\""
It happens for attendees, I added as members to a Team, but who are only "guests".
When they try to take part in a scheduled meeting and have to enter a name, Teams adds backslashes before and also behind the name. It happens not for all attendees, and the number of slashes varies.
I already posted the question in another forum, but nobody seems to know the reason for this weird behavior: Meetings - Teams Creates Weird Names - Microsoft Community

@Lisa_Wilke-Thissen I've seen this as well. Any ideas?

SolutionA colleague answered to me:
"When an attendee uses a Microsoft Account (aka Live ID) instead of an M365 account, I have seen this. When he drops off the meeting and rejoins, each time the display name textbox adds additional characters. This is not specific to the Teams web client:
1. Join: John Doe
2. Join: “John Doe”
3. Join: \“John Doe\”
4. ….
I suspect some sort of Html-encoding/decoding/security function."
I guess, my colleague is right.
