Teams Cloud Administrator unable to edit users 'Calling Policy'

Brass Contributor

Admins with the 'Teams Communication Administrator' role do not see the option to edit the users 'Calling Policy' (Attached is the screen-shot of what policies the 'Teams Communication Administrator' can edit)

As per the Microsoft Article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/using-admin-roles

Teams Communications Administrator can Manage voice, including calling policies and phone number inventory and assignment.

Hi @ApoorvaKasbekar

I have raised a bug here

https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/908686-bug-reports/suggestions/40470565-bug-teams-commun...

I have also raised to the product and engineering teams. Hopefully they will pick this up their end. Would also recommend opening a ticket your end through the M365 admin portal

Hope it will be fixed soon. Hope that answered your question

Thank you. I have raised a ticket with the support team. Hoping to have this resolved soon.

What is the ticket number? The engineering team is asking for it

Hi,

The ticket number is 20118009.

Awesome I have sent that to the engineering team. Fingers crossed they resolve it shortly.

Hi @Christopher Hoard

A few more issues with the 'Teams communication admin' role.

Users with 'Teams communication admin' role are unable to see 'Direct routing' under the Voice policies.

They are also not able to ‘Analytics and reports’.

As per Microsoft: To access the reports, you must be a global admin in Office 365, Teams service admin, Teams communications admin, or Skype for Business admin.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-analytics-and-reports/teams-reporting-referenc...

Consolidating all the issues with 'Teams communication admin' role:

  1. Unable to edit a user’s calling policy
  2. Unable to see the ‘Analytics and reports’ in the Teams admin center
  3. See the ‘Direct routing’ policy under Voice

I have added this information in the ticket as well.

Regards,

Apoorva

@Christopher Hoard your going to be surprised by this but Microsoft wanted to play treasure hunt with the below article.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/using-admin-roles#assign-users-to-each-role

As per Microsoft, Teams Communications Administrator can manage voice, including calling policies and phone number inventory and assignment via PowerShell ONLY. (Look at the attached image)
