Teams Client status unknown on a single client

Copper Contributor

Hi,

I am facing a weired issue with my local Teams client.

Since some days the status of all my contacts and my own status is unknown.

Status in Office e.g. Outlook is also unknown. Others see me as away. Setting a status message is also not possible, system says there was an error....

The web client works fine, client on the iOS device as well.

I am alone with this issue, no other users reported it so far.

I uninstalled teams, cleared the casche, deleted all teams system folders - no effect-

We took away my Teams licence and re-assigned it again - no effect.

I switched network connectivity from LAN to WLAN, changed VPN from Cisco to zScaler - no effect.

Has anybody an idea how to fix this issue? I am not a fan of setting-up again my notebook.

Best,

Michael

This helped in combination with clearing the cache of edge and IE:

1. Exit of the Microsoft Teams Desktop APP and all other applications.
2. Right click on the Teams icon in your system tray
3. Click Quit (I logged out)
4. Click on the File Explorer
5. In the address bar copy and paste the following location into File Explorer: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
6. Delete all files and folders in that Directory (If Outlook is running you will be unable to remove one directory. Make sure Outlook is not running)
7. Restart the Computer
8. Restart Microsoft Teams.

Only after clearing ALL the Teams cache locations is it considered a clean start for the Teams app.
Other locations for Microsoft Teams clients are:
• %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache
• %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage
• %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\databases
• %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\cache
• %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\gpucache
• %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\Indexeddb
• %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage
• %AppData%\Microsoft\teams\tmp
Google Chrome cache files location
• %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
• %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cookies
• %LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Web Data
Internet Explorer cache files location
• Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files
• Internet Explorer Cookies

Unfortunately the issue is back this  morning :(
