Teams Chat and Calendar App Disappeared - Education

Student accounts are having their chat (mainly) and calendar apps disappear from their Apps Sidebar.

This shows the same (missing these apps) logging into different systems, using desktop vs webapp (in both Firefox and Chrome) as well as Teams app on Android / IOS device.

Clicking the three dots or the Apps to bring up the store and searching for the Chat or Calendar doesn’t find either to “pin” back to the sidebar.

 

In Teams Admin Center – Teams Apps – Setup Policies

 

The default Global policy assigned to all Students / Staff for User Pinning was set to On.

A new policy  “CustomForStudent” was created, and the User Pinning was set to OFF.   This policy was then applied to fugonma20 (Fugon Moreno, Ariadne)

 

User was logged out of devices.

The local cache for teams was deleted.  (%appdata%/Microsoft/Teams)

User logged back in to Teams.

 

For Ipad devices using MDM solution IOS upgrade and Teams APP upgrade has been pushed.

  • Jodie_Strutz Hello, so how does it look under that custom setup policy if you go here?

     

     

    If all is good in the policies and the only things that doesn't populate properly are "Chat" and "Calendar" you better open up an official support ticket instead.
