Teams Audio Doesn't Work When Connected to External Monitors

Copper Contributor

Please help!  :)    I have an HP Spectre x360 laptop connected via USB port to two external Dell monitors via a Dell DisplayLink port/hub.  I have to unplug my monitors in order for Teams audio (both mic and speakers) to work.  Is there some configuration setting somewhere to fix this?  TIA

Hi,

Have you tried setting default mic and speaker from settings in Teams (you find settings by clicking on your profile image in the upper right of your Teams client)

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/manage-your-call-settings-in-teams-456cb611-3477-496f-b31... (see section Change your default mic, speaker, or camera).

@Linus Cansby   That WORKED!  THANK YOU!!  :)

have new Dell 27” conferencing monitor

connected directly to dell surface laptop as well used a docking station also dell

when I connect to Teams I can connect to a meeting but within 5 minutes or less, the sound/voice move from monitor to laptop and goes back and forth

i tried everything as has my IT department

On the laptop - just disable the device you don't want to use int he sound configuration page.

@Linus Cansby Thanks for your suggestion but still issue persist after changing default.
