Hello all

We just started to use Teams for team works but we have two problematics.

Teams and sharepoint are linked and we have synchronization of sharepoint documents on our PC.

When we create a new channel on Teams, the same folder is created in sharepoint (in the root directory) > Great.

But if we create a new folder in sharepoint (in the root directory), there is no impact in Teams (no new channel created)

Is there a way to solve this problematic?

Second problematic, the General Channel (and the General Folder in Sharepoint). Is it possible to desactivate it? If we delete it (channel in Teams or folder in sharepoint), it's automatically recreated. Same effect if we change the name...

Thanks for your help

Nope to both out of the box. However, you could technically get fancy with Flow, and use the Graph API so that when a folder is created you could trigger a channel creation in Teams but not sure if it would use the existing folder that is there or create another new one.

As for the General channel, currently we are forced to have it as a favorite and cannot remove it. If you remove the folder it will just get recreated.
Chris is absolutely correct! When you create a folder in SP, it’s just a folder in the library! When a channel is created there is a lot more going on ( channel conversations, tabs , and the SP folder itself) so from a SharePoint perspective, leave these ‘alone’ and use Teams for creating the folders! I also as Chris mentioned, have hard to believe that creating a flow will accociate the folder with the channel created...
