team essential and on prem AD / exchange on prem

hello 

i can't find the info and ms is pushing me to O365 

we want to use teams essential web base with our email from on prem exchange.

we can create an account on the admin center but is it feasable to use team essential with the  exchange on prem email even if the password might be different ?

do you know if i have a teams essential account can i link it with the teams that was include with the on prem version of office 2021 LTSC. or its fully a web base app ?

Don't know much about the Teams Essentials I'm afraid. But assuming you should go with a more advanced subscription for proper Teams experience (full calendar functionality, EXO mailbox and admin tools).
