Hello @Microsoft_Teams_team 

In a recurring meeting, the chat feature is showing the following message, "You can't send messages because you are not a member of the chat." 

I read another discussion and tried restarting the meeting & clicking on the calendar icon in the meeting invite but neither resolved my issue. 

Please help.

Solution

I see this same issue occasionally, even reported it few times... Best thing to do is open a support case, the more instances they have of this, the bigger the chances they will fix it.
