Hi there!

When I close a document preview (office documents and now also pdf) within Teams desktop app (tested on Windows 10 Pro), the tab from which I have opened the document resets as I have just opened it.

That's quite annoying, just think at those use cases:

  • I've moved deeply into a folder structure in the "File" tab (or SharePoint Documents tabs I've added), I want to preview a file to see if it's what I'm looking for. After I close the preview I need to navigate the folder structure again to reach the point where I was before opening the preview.
  • I've scrolled up in a conversation to find a document and read it; after reading it I want to read comments and replies, but I need to scroll up again to do that.

I think that the view should stay in the same place after opening and closing a document preview.

What do you think about that?

Have a nice day

Nicolò

PS: on UserVoice there are already to feedback for that: one, two.

I'm seeing the same when using the web access to Teams

I have been seeing the same thing. It is a real dissatisfier for our teams.

To think you @Nicolo Manzotti mentioned this in 2017 and it has been responded to is disappointing.
