Status goes to meeting while in a call

When I join a meeting my status is "in a call", but after a few minutes it goes to "In a meeting", but I'm still on the call. 
I need it (and believe it should) to stay in a call.
Is there anything I can do to make this happen? Is it a bug?

@ThisBytes5 Sounds like it's a timing issue between when Teams and Exchange update the users status. Are you using Exchange Online for your calendar? Do you join meetings before their start time?

I've never really looked at this closely, is it really a big deal? Isn't In a Meeting actually the correct status?
