Someone has already set up teams for your organisation

Copper Contributor

I am trying to log in to teams on a personal account for the first time.

I get this error message 'someone has already set up teams for your organisation'

I phoned microsoft support and they said that this because someone with the same domain name as me has registered (there are hundreds of thousands of people with the same domain name). They said they couldn't help and advised I ask here.

I had tried with a different email address but again as the domain name was not unique to me I had the same issue.

Can anyone help?

@AZT123 Hi, these are the most common scenarios with associated resolutions for that particular message

Thank you for replying.

I had seen this and tried all of these with no luck.
-I don't have any email links to follow
- With incognito browsing I get this message 'To open the web app, you need to change your browser settings to allow third-party cookies.' and can't log in at all

Any other suggestions?

@AZT123 OK, I assume you're using a work computer with policies. No luck changing those settings? Is it possible to try the procedure using a different browser or a another device?

@ChristianBergstrom Thanks for the suggestion - I downloaded the app to my phone and logging in on my phone  worked with no problem. Just got to find a way to use it on the computer - I'll see if I can download some different web browsers. Thanks.
