SharePoint Hub in Teams with Viva - landing page has changed from my Hubsite to the Dashboard

Brass Contributor

This is extremely annoying. I've spent ages creating a SharePoint Hubsite and have put it in Teams using Viva Connections. It was all working fine. Users could hit the Hub icon and launch it straight from the Teams toolbar. Now I log on today and the Viva landing page has changed from my Hubsite to the Dashboard - which we don't really use.
Is there a way to ensure Viva opens on my Hubsite page, as it was before?

Today's view:

Now I have to click the Hubsite link - it's super annoying.

I think this is announced a time back that the viva connections tab now shows the Viva Dashboard. What you could do create a new app and make this available in the organisation.
Hi Paul, Thanks for your help. I’m not sure how would I do that. Perhaps you could explain.
So obviously I’ve used Viva Connections to do this. I can reset it to default and create a new app but won’t the same thing happen? I don’t know of any other app which enables me to put my hubsite in Teams. Or there a setting in the Viva Connections App to point to the hubsite and not the dashboard, that I’ve missed?
Thanks again, Vicki

Don't worry I think I've found a way to override with Powershell

Putting this here in case it helps anyone else.
Thanks for your help Paul - it pointed me in the right direction.

@Victoria Symons thanks for sharing this script.

It works in desktop view but on mobile the Viva connection app is still redirecting to the dashboard view.

Yes - that's correct. My users don't use mobile teams so much - so not a huge concern for me.
However I did add a link to my Hubsite at the top of the Dashboard, just in case they happened across the mobile view, because I couldn't see any other route to it.
