Shared Channel Vs Private Channel

It seems private channel is subset of Shared channel. Why do we use private channel since shared channel can be used for same purpose. If we create a shared channel and restrict it just few internal team members, is it not same as private channel?

@BijDes yes, you can achieve the same functionality with a shared channel as a private channel, with future option to include external people etc.

I think the problem is the name, most users wouldn't know a shared channel could be a private channel, and there isn't a good word to describe the options.

they could do a lot of same things, but the core concept is still different

besides that, some feature is still only available in private channel

maybe MS will retire private channel, after 2-3 years later this new feature shared channel is stable to use
