Share channel in team

Hello community,

Please i need help with this question.

When I share files in a private channel in Teams, I want to be sure that those invited ( including external users ) can only see files etc. in this private channel.

But they will not be able to see files in the general channel of this Team?

I want to be sure if this is possible because I want the users (Including external users) to only see files in the private channel but not the general channel

Each private channel has its own SharePoint site. The separate site is to ensure access to private channel files is restricted to only members of the private channel.

I think, the question was the opposite: how to ensure that the private channel members don't see the non-private channel under the same team. Which is simply not an option as of now. But if file sharing is the only workload in this case (i.e. no need to participate in the chat, etc) then, instead of inviting people to the team, the owner could just invite them to the private channel's SharePoint site.

Aha.. well then you have to wait for the shared channels feature a.k.a Teams Connect. It’s a new way of cross-tenant collaboration using Azure AD Business Direct Connect. Preventing oversharing and so on. Set for Public Preview in April.
