SfB call contact integration

I have a user who i have configured teams with direct routing for.  However while they migrate they are still using SfB for calls.. what they have found is that when the transfer a call it is not going to the person they are selecting but is in fact routig back to their main number.  Having v=confirmed the numbers i have noted that in their O365 environment they are using AD Sync with an on prem AD server and the office number is set as everyones 'work' number.  If they select Skype call its fine... Is this simply because they are using SfB and it is using the information in a different way or will they have the same issue when moving to teams?  I have noticed that the correct information is available when I look in Teams admin centre.
