Revert to a previous version of a file in Teams files

Copper Contributor

I opened an Excel spreadsheet from the team files area in the browser, edited it and saved it back in the files area of a team channel. I made mistakes in the editing. Now, I can't just use "undo" because the file has already been saved. Is there a way to revert to the previous version of the file?

@brianbird A couple of ways are available.

  1. Open the file in the desktop app and revert from there.
  2. From the files area
    1. Chose open in sharepoint from the nav above the files
    2. Click on the three dots beside the file name
    3. Chose version information
    4. Revert to the one you’d like to have

Not the best description, rather quick and dirty. But I hope it will be of any help.

@brianbird It also appears that there's a newer feature to "Restore" or "Save a copy" when you navigate to File--> Info --> Version History, even within the Teams application now.Save a copy or restore.jpg
