So to help ease adoption/pushback I'm considering restoring the ability to dial internal 3 digit extensions.
I understand it can be done with a dial plan with normalization rules but have the following issue. The DID mapping is not the same for all extensions as we do not have contiguous external numbers so some belong to 555-0XXX, others to 555-2XXX and others in 556-0XXX. Is there a way to do this so you can map the specific extension/DID to the correct ranges or is there another way to map extensions that I am missing?
Thanks for any advice,
Chris

I guess the real question is are all the xxx extensions unique? Hopefully so, if not you really don't have much a choice to use that unless you have unique numbers. Only way I would think you could do this is just create a normalization for each extension. This would translate the 3 digit to the full number.

SolutionYes, all are unique and I'd pretty much arrived at the same conclusion!
Thank you for responding and for the help!
