"Share system audio" in a Teams meeting has disappeared

Hi, does anyone know what happened to the "share system audio" button in Teams meetings? It was there last week when I led a meeting, but when I had a meeting today it was gone. I haven't changed my audio settings and have been using the same computer.

Thanks for the info @Linus Cansby . I am a Mac user (and a teacher) and this was driving me crazy. At least now I know that there is nothing for me to do. I hope they fix this soon...

@camtu Are you running Windows Desktop Client? Maybe uninstall Teams and clear cache before you install again can help.

The iPad OS version of Teams does not allow screen sharing of any kind, from what I can tell. So, not only is there a not a "share system audio" checkbox for when one is sharing a screen, one cannot even share a screen.

@Paul_McG You can share your screen from both Teams iOS app and Android app.

To Ricky's original question, there does not seem to be a checkbox for sharing system audio in iOS. Do you agree?

@Paul_McG Yes, agree that it is not possible to share system audio from iOS. Didn't see a uservoice for that either so I guess the demand is not that high.

@Bynum Hoekstra I had a problem with this and discovered that the share system audio doesn't exist on the web version, but does in the desktop app.  This might not be your problem, but if it is, it is a simple fix

@Bynum Hoekstra Any luck getting your audio back on with shared screen?  I am attempting to teach and no longer have sound. Any ideas?

Have you lost the tick box to share audio, or is your audio just not working?

Are you using the app or the browser version of Teams?

@bvallisdhsfg I'm no longer having this problem but I think folks who use Macs are still unable to share their system audio as of today (5/14/20).

You have to use the Teams app

When you click on the share button, 

This should pop up below and to the Left

You then choose which window you want to share.

@bvallisdhsfg checkbox appears only for Team Meetings, but if you want to use it in Live Event, then there is no checkbox.  It supposedly should appear after the screen is shared in that auto-hiding box at the top of the screen.  That box can be pinned.

Can you test with another user/computer? And are you using the Windows client?

Yes that is the Teams app but the laptop is a mac. Realised that it does not show up on mac after reading a few forums. Tried on Windows and found it.

I tried on 3-4 Windows 10 pcs. It does show up in the meetings, but not live event.

What bonehead at Microsoft still thinks the whole world is using Windows PCs. Inability to share audio means Teams doesn't meet the minimum standards for real world Enterprise solution (which lives in today's real world of mixed windows and macs)

@apbrenner I think that the developers prioritize the platform where they have the highest number of users if they can't release a feature for both Windows and Mac at the same time. For Mac the share system audio feature is now targeted for release in Q3.
