Hi, I just receive info that our company Skype for business will be force upgrade to Microsoft Teams after few weeks.I do have some doubt on it as below.
1) Do we able to import or migrate all message/chat in skype for business to Microsoft Teams? Or it is totally empty in Teams?
2) We only able to auto import skype internal contact to Teams? How about the external contact? We need manually input contacts one by one in Teams?
3) Is it possible for Microsoft Teams business to have private chat with Microsoft Teams free? Because not all our customer using skype for business or Teams business, some of them still using skype consumer version.
I do test the Teams private/direct chat to external user using two trial account but it seem to have problem even though I already on the external access settings on both side.

1 - No Chat does not get migrated. Depending on your SfB Client version you can access them through your sfb client or outlook.
2 - externaly contacts get also migrated. Afterwards you can add them as well.
3 - I think this is a no. Federation to skype consumer is currently under review. but not not working at the moment. You could invite them as guests to your Teams
I need a bit more info about the last section to help you here. What scenario are you testing?

Hi, I do set the team admin settings as below, for two of my test trial account, and both set to teams only, but still cannot chat directly/privately, it did show as external contact but both party cannot send private chat message, only one of party can send video/audio call, let say party A can send video/audio call to party B, while party B cannot send audio/video call at all but can receive audio/video call from party A. Before this I tried add the domain name as allow domain at External access settings but no use, so I remove the allowed domain and leave it blank.
I tried send private chat to email@example.com, not sure that you receive it?

I am also trying to start a chat on your test account.
