Problem using teams with personal account registered to work-email

Hi,

This is for a friend of mine who has a personal office 365 license, and we are trying to create a free teams for his account. However, microsofts system assumes he is a business user, based on his e-mail domain and tries to force him to take ownership of the domain. 

How to get around this and get him back to a pure personal account?

Looks like i would need microsoft to remove an unmanaged azure tenant, to free up his personal account. How to contact the right people to do this? Been on the phone with multiple people today, and i ended up here.

What we need is to have his teams-app logged into something and not trigger confusing login-loops whenever he is called into a meeting with external partners in other organizations.
