Presence display in MS Teams and Skype for Business when using Outlook

Brass Contributor

Now I have some customers who will use Teams and Skype for Business together.

1, I want to make sure the outlook presence will display to which app?

2, If there has some settings to make outlook presence refect to Teams or SfB?

And if you know something about the present relationship between Outlook, Teams, and SfB, please let me know.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,

Make sure that they don't use Islands coexistence mode, with this they will have two presence statuses (one for Teams and one for Skype).

1. Outlook does not have any presence so I guess you mean that you want the presence in Teams and Skype should show "In a meeting" based on the calendar from Outlook? That will happen automatic, both applications will read the calendar and set that status.

To get presence show correctly in all applications make sure that you don't use Islands coexistence mode. If you use Teams Only or some other mode the presence will show correct in all three applications.

Thank you for your explanation.

I mean outlook presence is a green or red circle will be shown beside the username.

But you are right.  If there has a meeting on the outlook calendar, what is the difference for SfB and Teams presence based on the modes(Island or No Island)?

By the way, if there has some document about this.

Thanks again for your useful advice.
