I'm at Ignite and visited their booth yesterday. If I remember correctly, the firmware updates for the Treos will be out in the next month or so.

I think the native Teams app on a Trio is end of year. My experience so far is that I can call Trio's from a Teams Client using current firmware and the Trio side can see and hear me using the Visual+ but I can only hear them (no video). That is direct calling from a Teams client to a Trio. What I can't get to work is a Teams Meeting. If I invite the Trio to a Teams meeting, it will connect for 1-2 seconds and then just drops from the meeting.

I have the same disconnect issue. I am hoping to get this fixed soon because it is my last road block to going all in on Teams.

I was just testing again today. Same drop issue for meetings. I can have a Teams client call the SfB Trio and it mostly works. Sometimes I have to toggle the camera on and off so the far end "sees" the video from the room. None of it works well enough to tell my users to use it. Ignite had a lot of interesting Team enabled devices but I do not think any are actually shipping. I can have a Teams client join a meeting without dropping but I have to disconnect the camera from the visual+ which sort of defeats the purpose of the room system.

You can sign up for the TAP program here;
Once done and enrolled someone from Polycom will create an account for you in their TAP program and you can register your TRIOs. After Registration a custom config file will be sent to you that has the location of the provisioning server that hands out the beta trio teams client.
So far so good. Just waiting for video support to be added.

Another road block is that external guests/attendees on Teams meetings have to load the full client in order to share video and content. No plugin, no WebRTC support for anything but Edge, and no timeline for a fix. Yuck!

I think it is coming too. Crestron Flex looks like a good alternative if Polycom does not come through in a timely fashion. I think I heard Flex gear could ship in November maybe.

I believe this is a Microsoft issue. They have so much on the "backlog", like video support in browsers, that they are around 6 months behind on their roadmap. Anyone trying to integrate with Teams is probably similarly delayed.

I get it. In my case, the only reason I still have SfB is that all my conf rooms are Trio/Visual+ based. At this point I am willing to move to nearly anyone that can provide a Teams conf room device for audio and video at the price point of the Trio/Visual+ price point. There are many announcements about products but none actually shipping as far I can tell.

Did someone tests already the new "5.7.2AB" firmware? What is about "You can click-to-join Microsoft Teams hosted meetings if you use Microsoft SIP Voice Gateway or Polycom RealConnect"?

A bit dismayed that the Polycom doc seems to say the the whole Trio/Visual+ solution is a no go with Teams. The HP room system is overkill.
I did notice that it looks like the Teams firmware is ready for the Yealink desk phones:
