Playing Stream videos embedded into PowerPoint from Teams

I am having problems playing Stream videos embedded into PowerPoint files if I try to do this from Teams Desktop App > Any Team > Any Channel > Files. Whenever I try to play it I get the next screen which basically indicates that I need to sign-in:

But if I tried to sign in it load the url web.microsoftstream.com/authendirect which finally does not show anything but a blank page in the browser.

I have to say that If I tried to play the stream video directly from the PowerPoint desktop app I actually do it and I can also play the video in Teams if I posted it on any channel.

The problem only seems to happen while opening the PowerPoint File from Teams.

Any idea or privacy setting that may be affecting this?

Hi @JorgeObando 

As far as I know, embedded videos in PP files within Teams will not work. 

You may need to have the videos as links in the PP presentation, or create Stream tabs in the channel, if you want to go down the road of accessing it.

J’ai le même problème. La lecture des vidéos mp4 intégrées à mes PowerPoint ne fonctionnait pas. J’ai donc transféré tous les fichiers vidéos dans Streams afin de les intégrer par la suite dans les PowerPoint. Lorsque j’ouvre les présentations dans le navigateur web, les vidéos fonctionnent très bien. Dès que j’accède au PowerPoint dans Teams pour la diffuser lors d’un appel de groupe j’obtiens le même message d’erreur que vous. Nous avons dû annuler une thérapie de groupe à 2 heures d’avis à cause de ce problème puisqu’en utilisant le simple partagé d’écran pour que les participants voient la présentation, nous n’étions pas en mesure de voir les participants. Ce problème doit être réglé prioritairement. L’autre application de visioconférence disponible dans mon organisation permet de diffuser des présentations PowerPoint avec du contenu multimédia de façon beaucoup plus conviviale sans empêcher de garder le contact visuel avec les participants. Pourquoi vous attardez-vous à développer de nouvelles fonctionnalités alors que celles de base ne font pas l’objet de correctifs ???

@Daniel TSHIN Likewise. I have created material for staff inset and just discovered the issues described with my Stream videos when testing. When presenting the PPT as a Window it works, but removes the presentation view as a presenter. However it is a work around for now.
