Name in the brackets

Copper Contributor

hello together

simple question. Where does the name in the brackets come from? After renaming a user, the old name is still there and not the new one.

Hi @Sergius,

The name in the bracket is called username/handle or display name.

If you've recently renamed a user in Microsoft Teams and the old name is still being displayed, give it some time to synchronize and update across all areas. If the issue persists, you can try signing out and signing back into the Teams application to force a refresh of the user's information.

Also, ensure the user dispaly name is properly updated in the Active directory or Azure AD.

I don't think this answer is correct, as I have a similar problem and it's not the username or handle:

I believe it's an Entra ID field, but I can't identify it. Can anyone help?

TIA
