SOLVED

MS Teams member/guest suddenly not appearing.

Copper Contributor

I am encountering an issue where out of no where the list for members and guest on teams is not showing. This happened today both on web and desktop application.

The members are not actually removed, they appear on the admin center...

I would like to ask assistance on how to prevent and resolve this issue. Also, I do hope the solution can be on the admin side, as we have a lot of Teams group which is used by faculty members for their online class. We do not have the man power to survey each faculty member's device.

Please see the attached images for reference.

Any suggestion or solution is appreciated
Thank you!

Hi ,

there is a global issue "Some users who are team owners may see an incorrect member and guest count for some teams within Microsoft Teams" - TM709914 - reported in Microsoft 365 Admin center (please see the screenshot).

Next update from Microsoft regarding this issue tomorrow, March the 5th, 2024.

In the meantime, you can use Admin account to check the members and guests, because Admins can view the correct counts through the Microsoft Teams admin center.

You can (if you are an Microsoft 365 Admin) click on the "Are you experiencing this issue?" and report the issue to Microsoft.

@LeonPavesic Does this issue and fix also apply to viewing the list of members of a group, not just the count? I can see the members using the Android app, but not on my desktop or using Teams Online.

@Batistellim We've got exactly the same problem - there's an issue when we try to view the list of members. The problem appears, when we try to view the members of dynamic Teams - no matter if we're an admin or a member of the Team.

@LeonPavesic Is there a status update on the correction for this issue? It is almost a week after March 5th and the problem still persists. Not all of us are administrators and can use the suggested work-around.

I determined a crude work-around. Typing an "*" in the Search for Members box brings up a list of members.

@Kelen_leeI have found a way to update the records on a team, but it seems to only work on a specific device or application - and not on every device. I've done it by making a member to owner or owner to a member.
This still does not resolve issue of some device having a not updated member list, sadly.

Hi, any updates regarding the March 5 update?
